Meeting Chariz

6th Mirtul

As we approached Myrehall we saw a large stone tower at the edge of the town.  We assumed it to be Chariz's dwelling and made our way there.

We gave Chariz the letter and explained to him that Fared had been waylaid and had lost the crown and his supplies.  Chariz asks us to wait in the Ogre's Armpit as he may have work for us, after he questions the goblin that we have handed over to him.
We meet a group of three Dwarves at the Inn who I gain a rapport with.  Their leader is Gundren who is planning an expedition to recover the Forge of Spells.  He is on his way to Neverwinter to begin the expedition. I have a good natter, enjoying several Dwarven ales, catching up on the comings and goings at Mithril Hall.  Its so long since I've been back.  It seems King Bruenor Battlehammer has reclaimed Gauntylgrym.
We hear rumours of a Green Dragon over Neverwinter Woods and a White Dragon seen over the mountains to the south.
Chariz appears at the Inn a little later, and explains the goblin prisoner had no information.  However the theft of the crown worries Chariz, who entreats us to urgently find out some information for him.  He needs to know who Seldra is, and if it was the real crown.
He offers us 100gp to seek out the ghost of High Lady Saharel. There are tales that if you are worthy, Saharel will answer three questions truthfully.  We can use the third question for anything we like.  The rumours say she can be found near Spellguard, somewhere to the south.  He suggests we speak to Esklindrar, a cartographer in Yartar, who may know how to find Spellguard.   He also suggests that on our way to Yartar, we stop at Triboar and seek an audience with the Lord Protector, Darathra, and explain to her what has happened with the crown.  She may be able to give us some contacts to speed and aid us on the journey.
Volum negotiates some healing potions as part of the bargain.
I explain I need to go north to Mithril Hall, not south to find out information about Torhild Flametongue the founder of the Dwarven Kingdom of Belsimer, and how to get into his mausoleum. Chariz says if I undertake his quest, in return, he will use contacts he has in Mithril Hall to find out what is known, and share the information with me on our return.
We agree to help, and set off in the late afternoon for Triboar.
